St. Patrick's Day!

Mike went to the QC parade yesterday and sent a bunch of pictures so I could share with you!! It sounds like one heck of a time with a great crowd turnout!

Better than the "Other I"

Well, despite what I thought- that this last year would make me somewhat of an expert at saying goodbyes and being ok- this morning caught me by surprise! Turns out goodbyes still stink.

Yup, Mike left for Iowa this morning (he starts work on Monday!). Really this is an exciting thing because it means we are one step closer to both being in Iowa! I guess I've just gotten used to spending time with him in the evenings after work and seeing him in the mornings! :) Hoping time will go quickly!

Anyway, he made it safely in less time than we had thought - just under 7 hours! He is staying at a hotel with a suite and a kitchenette. Hopefully he'll just be there for about a month! Mike also took one of our cats, Amelia, with him. He had taken her to the vet a couple of weeks ago to get sedatives so she would be more calm for the trick. Apparently it worked!

Isn't this such a sad, pitiful picture?! Poor girl.

In other news, things are moving along with the house! We are hoping to close around April 6th!  The paperwork says "on or before" the 6th so hopefully we'll be able to get a firm date soon so I can plan my trip!!
